ok...ok...ill actually write journal stuff soon:P...maybe
A s she regained consciousness, Yuki struggled to open her eyes and let the sun in. Suddenly remembering where she was, she sat up quickly and looked around. Kenji lay beside her in a deep sleep(he was snoring and drooling as well...).
She decided to get up, and go explore. She walked out from under the shade of the tree.
She was startled by an elderly man, walking around the lawn with a barley ancient lawn mower.
"Uhh, excuse me? hello?" Yuki said as she tried to get the man's attention. He continued his business, paying to heed to Yuki's call. Feeling a little offended, Yuki tried again.
"EXCUUUSE ME!?" she said, her voice getting louder as she walked over to him. The man seemed deaf, and entirely focused on the job at hand.
"Yeah, I tried that already, he doesn't listen."
Yuki was startled when she heard this voice, and then turned around to see that it was Kenji, rubbing his eyes as he awoke.
"Opps, did I scare ya?" Kenji teased, as he wore a sarcastic grin.
Yuki shot a disapproving glance back at Kenji, which he responded to by stick out his tongue.
Ignoring his retort, Yuki sat down and looked around, with a kind of homesick-mixed-with -adventurous look on her face.
"We should probably try and find a way back up..or out...of wherever we are."
Yuki nodded, not breaking her facial expression. The two of them talked for a while about where to start looking and then, gathering they're supplies and stuffing their winter wear into their backpacks, prepared for searching an unknown world.
They walked off the lawn onto the cobblestone walkway, pausing to see if the old man would react in anyway, he didn't.
They walked past the fountains that were placed symmetrically along the pathway. Once they had walked for a good 5 minutes, they reach a tall gate, much like anyone would find in front a rich person's house. Beyond the gate, they could see a single cement pathway that led into a forest. In the center of the gate, there was a large "W".
"Well, how are we supposed to get over this?" Kenji asked sarcastically as he placed his hands on his hips. Without a word, Yuki walked up to the gate and quickly scaled the it, leaped over the top and landed on both feet like a gymnast.
Looking back through the gate at Kenji, she winked and said "That's how".
With an impressed look on his face, Kenji responded "...you expect ME, to do THAT?".
"Yah you're right. I bet you couldn't make it half-way without losing your footing" Yuki teased.
Kenji responded "Oh! It's a challenge is it? Well I accept!" with a fake English accent.
Kenji walked up to the gate, paused, and looked it up and down. He could see Yuki teaseling him still with her eyes. He shot her a glance, and started climbing. It was a slow process, but he eventually made it to the top. Straddling on the top of the gate he called down to Yuki "Hah! Looks like I made it to the top from up here!"
Suddenly, a loud siren sounded from the house. Kenji was startled and almost lost his balance. The barking of dogs could be heard coming from the house.
"Hey, uh, Kenji? Ya might wanna hurry things up a bit!" Yuki yelled up to Kenji, her voice competing with the siren.
Kenji jumped from the gate and landed less gracefully than Yuki had.
Just then 4 dark brown German shepards hit the gate in mid leap and started snarling and biting. Kenji barely escaped the wrath of one of the dogs' viscous teeth.
"Ok well, I'm all funned out" said Kenji with a slightly amount of terror in his voice from having his hand almost ripped off.
The two backed away from the gate, the dogs still barking and growling at them as they faded into the distance.
The turned around, and were met by a slightly unwelcoming pathway leading into the forest. Yuki looked up at the sky and noticed the sun was still very high in the sky.
"We might as well start now, we still have time before it gets too dark." She said with a determined look on her face.
"I'll race ya!" Kenji said and without warning gave Yuki a playful shove and started running down the path.
"You idiot, you wanna get lost?" Yuki yelled as she caught up with him.
"I think we already are!" Kenji yelled back to Yuki, as they ran down the path, into the dense forest...
